1926

L.J. Herring Implement Company was opened in 1922 in Wilson, North Carolina as an International Harvester Dealership. It was founded by Dr. L.J. Herring. In 1926 the company received its Motor Truck Franchise.

1962

In 1962, after many years of success on Barnes Street, the Dealership relocated at Hwy 301 & Hwy 264 Bypass. The company’s main operations are still at this location.

1964

In 1964 William Carter Herring became chief executive officer and owner of Herring Tractor and Truck Company, a position he held until 1987.

1969

In 1969 Herring Tractor & Truck Company became a Bobcat Dealer.

1975

Continued economic growth from Farm Equipment, Motor Truck, Parts, and Service brought separation of the two businesses. Thus, The Farm Center was constructed in 1975 on an adjoining lot.

1984

In November of 1984, Herring Tractor & Truck opened it’s branch in Goldsboro to provide parts, service and sales for International Trucks in that area.

1986

In 1986 Herring Tractor & Truck acquired the John Deere Agricultural and Lawn and Garden Franchises to broaden its’ services in Eastern North Carolina.

1987

D.S. White purchased Herring Tractor & Truck company from William Carter Herring and family in December 1987.

1989

In 1989, Idealease of Wilson was formed to serve the heavy and medium duty truck rental and leasing markets.

1992 and 1994

Upon completing their education, William Carter Herring White & Stephanie White Smith, joined the company in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Carter and Stephanie represent 4th generation participation in the operation and ownership of White’s International Trucks.

1995

In May 1995, the Case IH and Bobcat franchises were relocated in a new facility at the Wilson site.

2000

In November 2000, William Carter Herring White was promoted to Vice President of White’s International Trucks.

White’s International Trucks has three International Truck Associate Dealers serving Eastern North Carolina.

2001

In August, 2001, White’s International Trucks purchased Colonial International and Carolina Truck Leasing Inc. with locations in Greensboro, High Point and Mount Airy.

2005

January 2005, International established White’s International Trucks as a Certified Used Truck Center for the states of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

On September 1, 2005 White’s International Trucks, John Deere Division, merged with East Coast Equipment Company for a total of 15 locations throughout Eastern North Carolina to better serve our Agriculture Industry.

2014

In January 2014 Steve White takes the role of CEO and passes the torch to Son Carter. Carter White becomes President of White’s Tractor & Truck Companies.

2015

In November 2015 our Goldsboro International Truck and Goldsboro Idealease dealerships were combined into a brand new one stop shop dealership in Isaac Smith Road.

2016

In July 2016 White’s International Trucks acquired American Truck Center in Winterville, NC and transformed it into our 7th White’s International Trucks dealership across North Carolina.

2018

In December of 2018, White’s International Trucks was 1 of 15 dealers awarded the Prestigious Presidential Award that honors the top 7% of dealerships in the country.

Today

Today three generations of the family are spread throughout the companies under Steve White who continues to serve as the company’s Chairman. Son, Carter White serves as President and CEO of White’s International Trucks and White’s Idealease; daughter, Stephanie White Smith as President of the Bobcat division; nephew, Graham Wells IV as President of White’s Tire; grandson, John T. Smith works in Idealease leasing; grandson, Carter White works in service; and granddaughter, Collins White works in parts sales.

White’s International Trucks is a full-service commercial truck dealership that serves customers from the mountains to the coast of NC with locations in Wilson, Goldsboro, New Bern, Winterville, Greensboro, Hight Point and Mount Airy.

White’s International Trucks and IC Bus employs more than 241 employees, has more than 100 certified technicians with 100 service bays, and houses an inventory of over $6 million in all-makes parts.

The White’s Idealease division provides commercial lease and rental vehicles with a fleet of close to 300 trucks and offers mobile and dedicated maintenance services.
